Plum Cake

Plum cake
Recipe for Plum Cake from Anne Mann.

Good things
– sending off my registration form for an artist retreat, Artfest, in 2009
– meeting my weekly artistic goals of collaging and self portrait shooting
– an exhilarating yet terrifying ride on a scooter around Bowen Island
– having a mutually inspiring talk with an artist on Bowen who also works with collage and photography
– working on a shot I hope will get accepted into a group show later this fall in Portland

Not-so-good things
– continuing to procrastinate over a few too many things related to my personal work
– feeling the distance between myself and friends I thought were close ones
– not quite being able to get over the negative interpretations
– feeling really out of shape
– worrying about money (which is like the stupidest thing in the world…)

Well, at least some things are going well. ๐Ÿ™‚ Friends are one of the hardest things sometimes, aren’t they? (You were on the money about that being one of the things that’s getting me down.) Well, I’m happy to call you a favorite (albeit newish) friend, you’re a sweetie, and one of the most creative, understanding, and non-judgemental people I’ve met in a long time!

Friends are indeed, when things feel like they are going wrong. Most of the time it is workoutable. I was basing my guess on what you said when you were here working on my site.

Thanks Ariane. I feel the same about you. ๐Ÿ™‚

I hear you! I’ve been feeling that distance myself – don’t know if I should try to bridge the gap or if it will only make it wider. sigh.

Good-luck with the submission! And hang in there $ wise. It never feels like you have enough. Just remember that it’s better to think you don’t – means you actually have something to worry about.

    Love and hugs!
